Paracetamol is most widely prescribed medicine for relief from pain and fever in adults and children. This pain killer is either prescribed by a doctor or can also be purchased over-the-counter in retail pharmacies. Diclofenac is non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that blocks the action of cyclo-oxygenase (COX) – a substance in the human body, which is involved in the production of various chemicals. The COX in the body produces prostaglandins in response to injury and illness causing pain and inflammation. Stopping the production of prostaglandins leads to reduction in pain and swelling.

It is used for relieve from mild to moderate pain after operations and in rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile arthritis, and osteoarthritis. Mefenamic Acid can also be prescribed to treat heavy menstrual bleeding and menstrual pain. The drug works by controlling the production of irritant chemicals that cause pain and inflammation.

Mefenamic Acid is available in tablet, capsule to take orally. It is usually taken with food and as directed by physician. Do not consume more or less in dosage or more often than prescribed.
